On arriving for her session she was first pampered, having her hair and make up done by the talented Tifani Blakely, hair and make up artist, Concierge Makeup. Next, we went through the wonderful wardrobe choices she had bought in for her session. Terri also came to the session with trays and trays of gorgeous jewelry from Premier Designs! It was great to see how she paired her different wardrobe changes with a variety of jewelry choices. You often don’t think about it, but seeing her put combinations together it was clear just how much the jewelry styling enhanced the outfits.
Luckily for all of us some of the services Terri provides are styling consultations as well as closet consultations! You can find Terri on line at Trendswithterri.com, and on Facebook and Instagram @ trendswithterri .
Thank you again Terri , it was a fun session !

]]>In addition to being a registered nurse she is also a voice over actress! Some of the images we were to create she wanted to use for her upcoming website for her voice over work.
Dionne did an excellent job in choosing several different types of wardrobe looks, tailored shirts, beautiful dresses, she even had a lab coat custom embroidered with “Medical Narrator”, with her background in nursing, this will be a key niche for her voiceover work. My talented make up artist , Tifani Blakely of Concierge MakeUp , started with a subtle look for her headshots and then changed it up to create additional looks.
It was a great session with so many wonderful images. Gorgeous young lady! Here are a few!

]]>The client in this session is the lovely Bee, and in her session we captured head shots , images for author photographs and many that could certainly be used for personal branding and social media as well. Bee is an author who has a book on home schooling that will be published in the near future and some of these images will be used for the book. She had several different wardrobe selections, which I always recommend, and they all worked great and provided a lot of variety for her photographs.
These are some of the many favorites from our time together.
Give me a call at 702.439.0715 or send me a email, [email protected] and we can set a date for a complimentary consultation!
Make Up, by the talented: Tifini Blakely, Concierge Make Up
Getting Ready. Make Up, Tifini Blakely, Concierge Make Up
Oh yes, she worked the white shirt and jeans look !
A perfect dress!
A classic head shot, this blue was stunning!
The fuchsia!
As you can see we managed to create many images that can be used for headshots, personal branding and more. There was a moment during our session that Bee broke out in a dance and that is exactly how I felt when I went through the images we captured that day!

Contemporary beauty portraits are still some of my favorites. To share the happiness and excitement of a woman enjoying a session that she is the star of the show! The client is taken care of, pampered, her hair and make up professionally done and we get to make beautiful images that can be cherished for a lifetime. Yes, how wonderful is that! So often we as women have so many responsibilites, homes, children, families, in addition to work and careers to manage that taking care of ourselves can fall way down on the list. We are rarely the focus, as it is often shifted else where. I am happy for these sessions to allow the focus to be squarely on you. For the time we have together it is a respite from all the things that flood the “to do” list and a chance to relax and reconnect with your own beautiful self! I , as always, was honored to have the opportunity to do a this session, this time with the gorgeous Jennifer!
This is what Jennifer had to say about the experience:
“I enjoyed the experience because it was self focused, relaxing, and fun!
I have shared the experience with my friends with how beautiful you feel getting pampered and letting go through the process!
I wouldn’t change anything from my experience ….. it was fantastic! “

]]>Hair and make up were masterfully done by Tifani Blakely of Concierge Make Up.
Stephanie shared the following thoughts from her session;
“My favorite part was just the feeling of being special. What girl doesn’t like to be pampered. I loved seeing what someone else would do with my hair and makeup…so fun”
and
“I would definitely recommend this to a friend. Seeing yourself through someone else’s eye….or lens as it may be, is eye opening.”

]]>It’s great to have a client enjoy the experience of getting a mini makeover and look at herself in the mirror after hair and make up and see that spark and happiness in her eyes, that recognition of her own beautiful self ! Then we have a opportunity to make images that capture and reflect that beauty. Wow!
I’ll be sharing some of the recent beauty portrait sessions images we’ve done in this and upcoming blog posts. First up is the gorgeous Jessica!

Help -Portrait provides a way to give back to your local community, as the mission statement explains, by GIVING, not taking a picture of those in need. For our local Las Vegas Help Portrait event again this year, super talented hair and make up artists gave the full treatment and photographers provided portraits for the beautiful young people from the Shannon West Homeless Youth Shelter. A DJ supplied the music as a much appreciated backdrop for the day. We all had a great time filled with plenty of smiles, laughter and hugs.
Here are some behind the scenes images as well as a some of my many favs of my portraits from the day of these amazing young people.

187? I wanted to know what it meant as well. In addition to being a pilot, both plane and helicopter, John is also a race car driver and 187 is his race number. Nice touch, Britani!
Since we were so close and still had a little bit of time before sunset, we raced over to Nelson and captured some images there as well. As soon as John saw the plane, they knew they wanted that shot!
Luckily we had something for everyone, turns out Britani really likes old trucks!
Here’s wishing this gorgeous couple every happiness in their married life!

]]>I loved Sydney. It’s a great city with so much to offer. It has a really efficient public transportation system consisting of trains, light rail, buses and ferries and yes, we rode them all. Sydney harbor is beautiful and is the hub of the ferry systems. The world famous Sydney Opera House is one of the main sights in this area as is The Harbor Bridge. As many times as I saw this, from a lot of different vantages, I never tired of the view!
We spent a relaxing afternoon at The Royal Botantical Gardens which is right in the heart of downtown Sydney and also overlooks the Harbor, a beautiful setting. I love the welcome sign .
“Please walk on the grass”
“We also invite you smell the roses, hug the trees, talk to the birds and picnic on the lawns” Love it!
There are many beautiful beaches in the Sydney area, all just a bus, train or ferry ride away. There is a popular cliff top coastal walk, from Bondi to Coogee ,which is a distance of close to 4 miles. It goes from Bondi beach and continues to Coogee beach and passes other beaches ,bays, cliffs, scenic views and rock pools along the way. It’s a great walk, every few minutes there is something beautiful to see or experience. Hot ? Need a break ? Take a dip and then continue on to the next beach !
We took a day trip to visit the Blue Mountains, which is a World Heritage area site. Only a couple of hours away from Sydney, great hikes and breathtaking views. It was slightly cool when we first arrived at the mountains in the early morning, but it heated up and we were soon out of our jackets and scarves. We were fortunate to have good weather pretty much throughout our entire trip.
We spent five days in Port Douglas and enjoyed the relaxed pace and natural beauty of the area. While there we took a tour on the Daintree River and spotted various wildlife including birds, snakes, and crocodiles! Of course from the safety of the boat!
We also visited the Daintree National Rain Forest and Mossman Gorge.
The trip out to the Great Barrier Reef by boat is 90 minutes from Port Douglas. Everyday we monitored the weather at the reef with the tour operators and every day it was high winds and rough seas. There were even a couple of boats that had to cancel altogether. On the last day we were to be in Port Douglas the winds had calm down just a bit, but not much and the seas were still rough. But it was our last day and we did want to experience The Great Barrier Reef, so off we went ( after stopping by the pharmacist the night before for some motion sickness drugs!) Yes, the seas were rough all the way there and back ! Still we got out there, snorkeled , took in the views from a glass bottom boat and rough seas and all we were happy to have the experience.
We said goodbye to beautiful Port Douglas and headed back to Sydney for our last five days.
I really appreciated how much of an art and cultural scene Sydney has. Not only museums and galleries, which we visited of course, but just during our visit there were a couple of city wide art festivals and a photography festival taking place. There was also a writers festival with major authors from around the world. Whew ! Believe me, this is just a glimpse of some of the many things that Sydney has to offer as well as just a glimpse of all that we were able to do and see during our visit.
I even managed to be “in” one of the light art installation pieces. It was an interactive exhibit that allowed you to come up and they projected your face on to the art piece. Yup that’s my face !
Australia has been one of the places in the world I’ve wanted to visit so this trip was the perfect anniversary gift . More memories created and new places explored. I’ll take that any day !

I love to travel. To see new places, meet new folks, explore different parts of the country and different parts of the world. I’m fortunate that I’ve traveled a bunch and with my husband have had the opportunity, together to see even more. So for our anniversary this year a trip, this gift from my husband to a place I’ve yet to visit was the perfect gift. Experiences, not things, for me will always win out. I traveled to Cuba last year and this is another destination that has been on “my list.”
So the journey continues, off we go to Australia, heading “down under.” I look forward to experiencing that part of the world. I’ll meet you back here to share!

Here in Las Vegas a super talented group of hair and make up artists got the teens from the Shannon West Homeless Youth Shelter looking amazing. DJ’s were on hand to lend their services and create a fun atmosphere and a great group of photographers had the pleasure of providing portraits for these wonderful young people. Everyone volunteered their services and I know for each of us it was truly a special experience.
Some “behind the scenes” of the day
These are a few of my favorite images of the beautiful young people that I had the pleasure of photographing at this years Help-Portrait event

The happy bride and the Bride and her Mom, what a sweet moment……
Wishing them much love and happiness, always!!

I even managed to find a bit of greenery to play with, just off Fremont Street
A guard came out from one of the casinos to tell us that we could not be in the middle of the street. Early on a Sunday morning with little traffic, we still managed to get in a couple of shots.
I always love the moments in a shoot when someone just genuinely cracks up laughing, I said something, they said something, it’s funny. The laugh is real and true and that’s always beautiful.

These represent just a few of the images from the session. After photographing a series of various yoga poses we also took several head shots.
Noemi and her family recently were offered a great opportunity in Portland, Oregon. Las Vegas’ loss is definitely Portland’s gain. I wish her all the best there and continued success in bringing yoga to so many.
Brittney….All the best !

I had a great time last Sunday, courtesy of B & C Camera and Canon! Together they put together a workshop on Pin Up Style photography lead by Riley Kern a photographer out of California who specializes in this style . The workshop took place in Nelson , NV. Most photographers from this area, including myself have done sessions at Nelson. Still, Nelson is a unique spot and one I always enjoy and for me it’s fun to work with and around a group of other photographers. There is always something that can be shared and something that can be learned. Though I don’t typically shoot Pin Up the workshop sounded fun and it was! Canon had various camera bodies and lenses available for folks to try out. They had set up one of the barns at Nelson as a “classroom”, complete with flat screens. The models, Genevieve, Lisa and Kiera, were great and though I only took a few shots with the various lighting set ups, (mainly going with the gorgeous available light), it was still a good learning experience.
B & C and Canon couldn’t have been more accommodating, they transported us out to Nelson in 2 luxury style buses ( definitely my most relaxing trip to Nelson, ever!) We left from B & C’s new Tropicana , eastside location.
Once we arrived, Riley Kern gave us an overview of Pin Up Style photography its origins and history, the term Pin Up dates back to 1941. Her presentation included showing work of some of the drawings and illustrations that help popularize the genre, as well as some classic Pin Up photography portraits, one of the most famous being, Betty Grable. What soldier from that era wouldn’t get dreamy eyed just recalling those classic Betty Grable shots! Riley also shared some of her work and reviewed the various lighting set ups she uses.
Oh, did I mention that B & C and Canon also provided lunch (even veggie options were available!), anyone who gives me a great learning experience AND feeds me, makes me very happy.
They also had Canon printers set up so you could print one or two of your photographs, beautiful 13 x 19 prints.
But of course the focus (no pun intended!!) of the day was all about creating images, here are some of mine.
Doesn’t the sun make the best hair light, I think so !
Once again “Thank You” to B & C and Canon and their staff members, also to Riley Kern and our beautiful and fun models !!
I look forward to the next time!!
